Motorcycle insurance and motorbike insurance coverage helps protect you, your bike and others on the road. Most MotorCycle insurance is available for most types of motorcycles including: sport bikes, cruisers, tour bikes, enduros, scooters, dirt bikes, trikes and some custom bikes.
Insurance gives you the peace of mind that you and your motorcycle are protected should the unexpected occur. If you are involved in an accident, insurance can help cover the cost of repairs to your bike and medical costs. Your cycle insurance policy also provides coverage if your bike is stolen.

What does motorcycle insurance cover?

* Accessories – if you carry comprehensive or collision coverage, your policy will include coverage for your accessories (coverage amounts vary by state). Accessories may include: saddlebags, backrests, seats, chrome pieces and CB radios. If needed, additional coverage can be purchased.

* Bodily injury liability – provides protection if you injure or kill someone while operating your motorcycle. It also provides for a legal defense if another party in the accident files a lawsuit against you. Bodily injury liability covers injury to people, not your vehicle.

* Medical payments, no-fault or personal injury protection – usually pays for medical expenses of the injured driver and passenger.

* Uninsured motorists – pays for your injuries caused by an uninsured driver in a crash that is not your fault.

* Comprehensive physical damage – pays for damage to your motorcycle from theft, vandalism, flood, fire or other covered perils.

* Collision – pays for damage to your motorcycle when your motorcycle hits or is hit by another vehicle or object.

* Property damage liability – pays for damage to someone else's property resulting from an accident for which you are at fault and provides you with a legal defense.

Motorcycle Tips - Useful Tips for You and Your Motorcycle

When you run five motorcycle forums very long, you begin to see people posting motorcycle tips. Maybe you've found something that works for you and you want to pass it on to other motorcyclists to help them out. That was the basis for a long running Motorcycle Tips feature that I created on the old site. I also had a submission form so readers could submit their own tips. I got a lot of submissions and the rest came from responses posted in the forums.

I've just re-created Motorcycle Tips on my Motorcycle Views site. To start off, I have motorcycle tips in six categories: Safety, Riding, Maintenance, Cleaning, Insurance, and Touring. Other categories may be added later depending on additional tips received by readers.

Here's an excerpt from a motorcycle tip, How to Keep Your Bike From Being Stolen, from the Safety category:

• Never leave your bike unattended in questionable/high threat areas. If in doubt, don't park it there.



• Out of sight, out of mind. A good bike cover if you must leave your bike outside or have no garage (as it is in my case). This simple piece of equipment not only protects your bike from the environment but also from prying eyes.



• Secure the bike to a solid, immovable object using the heftiest locking device you can find/carry. Supplement with an alarm system if you wish.



• Simple deterrents like disc locks and what not are a last resort. Typically, only useful in lower threat areas or when you cannot lug that 15-lb New York Chain and lock around.
